Dr. Emmanuel Ayee has been appointed to serve as interim dean of the Regent University School of Communication & the Arts (Com/Arts). Ayee served most recently as the department chair of Communication in Regent's School of Undergraduate Studies.
"Dr. Ayee is one of those rare individuals who combines the heart of a pastor, the intellect of a scholar, and the vision of a leader," said Regent President-elect Dr. Carlos Campo. "We are confident that he will be successful in this new, exciting role."
Ayee has lived and worked in Ghana, South Africa, Uganda and Kenya. He has also been a communication professor at Dordt College in Iowa and Geneva College in Pennsylvania. His areas of expertise include intercultural communication, public relations, organizational communication, development communication, publishing, consultancy, teaching and training.
"I am grateful for the opportunity God has given me to serve as interim dean of the School of Communication & the Arts," Ayee said. "I look forward to working with the faculty and staff to provide exciting and excellent education to our students."
Ayee describes the communication field as God's gift to humanity. "We must approach the teaching of our discipline from a holistically Christian perspective that is reflected not only in our pedagogy but also in our lifestyle and relationship with students.
"In the coming year, we will continue to teach communication and the arts from a Christian perspective, offer programs that have a strong biblical foundation, are academically challenging and exciting and experientially practical," Ayee continued. "Students will complete their studies with sound theoretical background, a clear understanding of the communication process and also develop competency in a variety of skills that will make them effective communicators and servant leaders in their respective callings."
Ayee received his master's degree in communication from Wheaton Graduate School of Communication in Wheaton, Illinois, and his doctorate in Communication from Potchefstroom University in South Africa. He is married to Alberta and they have four adult children.
